About
Alida Gerber- Divorce and Family Solutions
Alida Gerber is an experienced South African family law attorney and mediator who has worked within the family courts for over a decade.
Her work focuses on families in transition, guiding parents and children through some of life’s most emotionally complex and legally challenging seasons with dignity, and compassion.
But Alida’s work is not only professional, it is deeply personal.
After navigating her own high-conflict divorce and co-parenting journey, her role as a legal practitioner evolved into something more: a purpose.
She experienced firsthand how overwhelming, isolating, and confusing the system can feel, even for someone who understands the law.
That experience shaped her mission, to make legal knowledge less intimidating, more accessible, and truly supportive for families who need it most.
In South Africa, many families face separation, conflict, and parenting challenges without proper access to accurate information or guidance.
Too often, fear and misinformation lead to unnecessary litigation, prolonged conflict, and emotional harm to children. Alida is passionate about changing that.
Her work now extends beyond the courtroom. Through social media platforms, webinars, community events, and educational initiatives, she shares practical legal information, professional insight, and real-life guidance to help families understand their options.
She strongly advocates for alternative dispute resolution, particularly mediation, as a way to reduce conflict, protect children, and help families move forward in healthier, more constructive ways.
At the heart of her work is a simple belief: families deserve support, not just legal outcomes.
Alida’s approach blends legal expertise, lived experience, and a deep understanding of the emotional realities families face.
Her goal is to empower people with knowledge, restore dignity during uncertain times, and help parents make decisions that serve not only their legal position, but their children’s future.
